Tag der offenen Hiatahüttn
Die Winegrowers invite guests to the "Hiatahüttn", small huts in the vinyards, where the winekeepers used to live during the harvesting period to protect the precious grapes from being stolen. They had to stay sober during the whole harvesting period and weren't allowed female visitors, so they wouldn't neglect their duties. Visitors are treated with fresh wine (Sturm), grape juice and hearty snacks.

Hiataeinzug (Wineguards procession)
The best known and most beautiful thanksgiving celebration in Austria! The wineguards come back to town after all grapes are harvested, carrying the "Pritschn". After service in church all turns into a big celebration on the main square, ironic songs about the others are sung, and wine can be tasted. (10am-12pm)
